BROOKLYN + NYC

Just got back from a little New York roadtrip with three friends. Very inspiring trip partly due to the fun surroundings but mostly because of the creative group we traveled with. The main purpose of the trip was to get our friend Josh Raskin aka..Kids & Explosions to his show at Glasslands Gallery in Williamsburg. Other road trippers included, Lauren Pirie and Kathryn Macnoughton. We stayed three nights in Williamsburg at a Smart Apartments building and two nights in Manhattan at the Jane Hotel. I had not been back to New York since I lived there five years ago so Josh, Lauren and Kathryn helped us find great places to eat and shop.

FIRST ADVENTURE TO BRIMFIELD

I have been remiss in my blog posts!!!! Bad Danny! Here are just a few photos from my very first adventure to the Brimfield Antique show. Just an hour and a half outside of Boston, three football fields worth of treasures awaited.  My girls, the Beckermans, have made this show an annual destination and I think I might have to tag along every year from now on. A bit obsessed! This show is an antique/vintage lovers dream!!!!! We only had one day there so it was a serious treasure hunt. I was lucky to have my mom with me to scout out all of the old photos and paper goods.  I also met the Beckermans' girlfriend Kelly a.k.a The Glamourai. She was as sweet as could be and I can't wait to hang out more on the next Brimfield trip. Next time I will have to stay for three days with a huge rental truck in tow. Still Wishing that the toy ferris wheel and life sized horse could have fit in my luggage.

MOM + BRIGITTE

As I was playing around withe the Brigitte Bardot photos it reminded me of an old photo of my mom. I went searching through her old modeling photos and found it! Such the beauty with her sun-kissed freckled face and bleached out hair.  I surprised her with these collages for her birthday! Take a peek at her blog, Zendoll Worshop, and you will see where I get my biggest source of inspiration!

BRIGITTE FOR CHLOE

The Beckerman ladies found these original Brigitte Bardot photos at an amazing store in Amsterdam!!!!! What a find!!!  I could not believe my eyes the first time I saw these treasures. Chloe commissioned me to make an art piece for her new home in L.A and it was a treat to make!!! Love you Chloe!!!! Click here to see photos of the Beckerman adventures in Amsterdam.
